Student Stories: Sharon

Sharon is a single mum with one child. Sharon is Dyslexic and has worked very hard to achieve! The first course that Sharon completed and passed was ‘Share’ (Play Plus) a ten week course with parents/carers and children coming together in school, having fun whilst learning. This course is accredited with Open College Network. The family learning team and school submitted an application to the National Share Awards and won Organisation of the year out of 600 entries. The group of 10 parents were invited to the award ceremony at the NEC and they were presented with £500.00 and a framed certificate. From this the group has gone on to achieve in many ways.
The group wanted more!
