Student Stories: Rani

Rani

Rani, from Sri Lanka, began studying at Salford College in 2001 in an elementary ESOL class (English for Speakers of Other Languages). She made good progress and the following year she moved up to the intermediate class which she continues to attend.

In her own country, Rani, a busy mother of three, was a nurse and wanted to in this country too. In order to do this she is now studying an Access to Higher Education Course in Health and Social Care at Salford College, which she combines with English classes. Rani receives help with her English through the college's Learning Support System.

Rani has been accepted at university and hopes to start in October. During her rare spare time, she volunteers in a local hospice. Rani has a very busy life!
