Union Learner Rep
I would like to start by saying that learning has really helped my confidence. Although I enjoyed school, it was really the vocational skills that I was good at – maths and English were always difficult.
Seven years ago my wife became pregnant and I decided to go back to college to improve my English and maths. It was there that I found out that I was dyslexic, which explained the problems I’d had.
I’ve always been active in the Union, and when I heard about the training for Union Learner Rep. I wanted to find out more – hoping that we could establish something at Salford.
I thought it would be a great opportunity to help others who, as adults, wanted to give learning another go.
Over the last four years we have worked hard to build up a network of Union Learner Rep’s to really get learning off the ground.
