Student Stories: Dawn
Dawn has taken to Life Long Learning in a big way. She first attended Eccles College with a friend and enrolled to study on a short Introduction to Computing course.
After succeeding in this she quickly moved on to a literacy course, achieving City and Guilds Wordpower Stage 1 and Stage 2 certificates.
Dawn's achievements led her to greater glory as she was awarded Salford Learner Of The Year. Dawn has continued her studies and is aiming for a job in the computer industry.
Dawn, a single parent, has achieved all this while caring for her three daughters. Dawn has also encouraged other members of her family and in 2003 her Grandmother was also awarded Salford Learner of the Year.
Dawn would advise anyone to ' Take that first step because its not as bad as you think it is.'
