The Community Learning Partnership Website Launch

Saturday 1 August 2009

T he Community Learning Partnership (CLP) launched the new and improved website at the Langworthy Cornerstone on Tuesday 3rd February 2009.

The website will strengthen the function of the Community Learning Partnership in Salford and publicise learning opportunities, venues and facilities.  The partnership is keen to recruit new members from voluntary and community sector organisations in Salford and the event provided a great opportunity for them to find out more about the CLP, how the website may benefit their organisation and for groups to join the partnership.

The event was opened by Mike Thorpe the Chair of the CLP and it began with a website demonstration followed by guest speakers Ian Stewart MP and Karen Rigg.

Ian Stewart MP took the opportunity to emphasis the importance of voluntary and community sector organisation in Salford and in particular their ability to access residents and learners who are hard to reach and require greater support.

Karen Rigg from the Greater Manchester Centre for Voluntary Organisation (GMCVO) talked about the role of GMCVO and how organisations can become members of the Consortium.
