New look raw launching soon!
In our last newsletter we told you that RaW is changing. It is being re-branded to become raw: skills for everyday life, with a redesigned website, logo and resources. Initially launching in 2009 with raw money and raw computers, the site will be presenter led and video rich with lots of interactive activities. raw money will cover all areas of personal finance and will be headed up by money experts Jasmine Birtles and Dominic Littlewood, pictured above. Over the next few years more online resources will be added to the website on a range of subjects, including numeracy and literacy, so it becomes the destination of choice for adults who want ''Skills for Everyday Life''.
Changes to ordering resources
The resources ordering system,(bbc.co.uk/learning/proms) will be shutting down this month. Following our re-launch activities and resources will be available online. You'll be able to road-test new upcoming content, share best practice and download free marketing and workshop resources, ideal for intergrating into existing courses. You’ll also be able to sign up for a new newsletter! Show and try.....
In the New Year, there will be several “Show and Try” events in each region where you can try the raw website. These events will also offer a great opportunity to give feedback to the BBC and share expertise with partners and colleagues in your area. If you offer broadband access to the public, and you would like to see a demonstration of the new raw website, please register your interest with your local BBC Learning Project Manager by clicking here.
Adult Learners' Week
The UK’s largest and longest running festival of learning, Adult Learners’ Week, celebrates its 18th birthday in 2009 (9-15 May). This year the week includes events which celebrate cultural diversity, learning at work and awards for outstanding learning achievements. If you know an outstanding learner, or group of learners, you can nominate them now for an Adult Learners’ Week Award. Visit www.alw.org.uk/nominate to fill out an online application form.
To find out more about Adult Learners’ Week and how you can get involved, NIACE are holding free Regional Roadshows this autumn throughout the country. Visit www.alw.org.uk for more information.
That's all for this newsletter!
